She completed a residency and internship in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She then went on to complete a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital - Harvard University. During her fellowship, Dr. Kumar received her Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
