Dakari Quimby, PhD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California. He also conducts individual therapy and leads programming to support workplace wellness for corporations. Dr. Quimby specializes in treating mental health concerns for young adults who are coping with the impact of past childhood/family stress, relationship challenges, or unfulfillment in where they are in life. He is passionate about research examining trauma, social equity, and strategies to promote resilience amidst communities of color. Dr. Quimby serves on the editorial board of both the Journal of Social Issues and Psychology of Violence.

I am passionate about promoting healing among people of color and all communities through culturally centered care. I hope to use my expertise to help support those who often might feel left out of healthcare to begin their wellness journey.

Education

Dr. Quimby earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his doctoral degree in psychology from Loyola University Chicago. He has completed training in delivering trauma-informed mental health services at the University of Chicago Stress, Trauma, and Resilience Clinic (U-STAR) and completed a postgraduate fellowship in psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
