Experience

Aleesha Grier, PsyD, is a practicing clinical psychologist with her own private practice and assistant clinical professor at the Yale School of Medicine. 

Dr. Grier specializes in helping adults pre/post-weight loss surgery, with addiction treatment, work-life balance, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and the treatment needs of actors and others in the entertainment industry. She is passionate about providing mental health services for women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

My favorite part of being a psychologist is giving clients a space to be heard without judgement, and helping them realize that change is possible.

Education

Dr. Grier received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. She received her master's and doctorate degrees in psychology from the University of Hartford. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine with a focus on substance use and community mental health. Dr. Grier also holds a certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
